I think of my mother, Alice Wallace, often. She was taken from us far too soon and her loving
memory lingers in our hearts. Words will never fully describe the emptiness I feel, not having my
best friend at my side, watching over me with me pride and protective instincts. Not a day passes
that I don’t recall her valuable advice or that I’m not inspired by her strength. She fought a long,
painful battle against Diabetes, and up until her final breath was never overcome by pity or sorrow;
nor did she ever display a moment of weakness. My mother radiated with beauty and a power
from within that in my eyes will never be duplicated. Despite our differences she remains the
paradigm of true maternal grace and elegance; a powerful force with a heart of gold.
My mother, a successful and very well respected teacher stressed the value of family, God,
community involvement and education. The furtherance of this discipline is also an important part
of my life. I have grown into the person I am today, because I come from a family of hard working,
accomplished professionals. In order to encourage our new generation to embrace the importance
of core values, I along with my brothers, sisters and close friends have established The Alice
Wallace Foundation, a fund dedicated to helping our youth achieve the greatness within, by
offering them an opportunity to pursue a quality of life I was afforded as a youth. I know, just by
the relationships I have built in my personal life, this is a cause that is dear to so many of us. That
said I would be honored if you joined us in building The Alice Wallace Foundation into a powerful
